Biografia

Mary Francês Reynolds nasceu no Texas, em 1 de abril de 1932. Debbie Reynolds começou sua carreira quando ganhou um concurso de beleza aos 16 anos. Em 1948 obteve uma participação no filme June Bride, que foi o seu de estréia.Ela nunca tinha dançado, até que foi escolhida por Gene Kelly para protagonizar ao seu lado “Sing’ In the Rain” (1952). O filme se tornou um dos maiores sucessos de todos os tempos e Debbie seguiu fazendo musicais e comédias românticas.
1955 esteve em Armadilha Amorosa, ao lado de Frank Sinatra.
A atriz chegou a visitar o Brasil em companhia de Píer Angeli em 1953.
Foi casada com Eddie Fisher, com quem teve dois filhos. Dentre eles, a atriz Carrie Fisher, mais conhecida como a Princesa Leia de Stars Wars. Seu segundo marido foi o magnata Harry Karl. Com a decadência de sua carreira, seguiu se apresentando nos palcos.Comprou um cassino em Las Vegas e atualmente junta itens de sua coleção para seu próprio Museu, onde constam artigos de filmes, roupas usadas por outros atores, como Judy Garland e memórias.
Foi indicada ao Oscar por seu papel em A Inconquistável Molly Brown.
