Biografia

Lana Turner, uma das maiores estrelas de Holywood, iniciou a carreira em 1937, quando um olheiro do “Hollywood report” lhe encontrou em uma lanchonete. Tinha apenas 15 anos. Mervyn LeRoy a contratou neste mesmo ano para uma participação em “They won’t forget”, quando foi lançada como a garota suéter. Após várias participações, dentre elas na como extra no filme A star is Born, e com uma pequena participação no filme Love finds Andy Hardy, ela seguiu como uma pin-up em filmes populares como Ziegfeld Girl e Johnny Eager. Conseguiu alcançar status de grande atriz em “O destino bate à sua porta”, sendo indicada ao Oscar por “Peyton Place” (1957).
Outros filmes de sucesso foram Os três mosqueteiros (1948), A life of her own (1950) e Madame X (1966), dentre outros. Com a vida repleta de escândalos, dentre eles o do assassinato de seu amante pela sua filha, Lana morreu de câncer em 1995.
