Biografia
Após conseguir um contrato pela MGM, Robert Taylor foi emprestado à Fox, onde estreou em Handy Andy (1934). Um ator muito belo, logo conseguiu chegar ao estrelato, aumentando em pouco tempo o salário de 34 para 450 dólares semanais. Na década de 30 era considerado um grande galã, e quando estrelou Sublime Obsessão (1935) ao lado de Irene Dunne, chamou a atenção das fãs, que mandavam enxurradas de cartas para ele.
Robert atuou ao lado de estrelas como Janet Gaynor, Loretta Young, Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, Myrna Loy, Hedy Lamarr e Lana Turner. Atuou também ao lado de Greta Garbo, a maior estrela da época, em A Dama das Camélias (1936). O filme foi um dos maiores sucessos da década de 30, com a Garbo recebendo sua indicação ao Oscar. Seu sucesso continuou durante a década de 40, com sucessos como The wateloo Bridge, A yank at Oxford, Billy the kid e Johnny Eager (com Lana Turner).
Durante a guerra, Robert se alistou na marinha e acabou sendo recusado para o combate pela idade (32 anos), mas ele foi ser instrutor de voo. Após a guerra continuou sua carreira até sua despedida na série Death Valley Days (1966 – 1969). O ator que foi casado com Barbara Stanwyck e Ursula Thiess faleceu em 8 de junho de 1969.
